Update: Check out my Montreal posts and recommendations here.
I wish I could travel more…who hasn’t thought or said that at least a couple times in their life? I know I say it all the freaking time. Traveling is just so much fun, and I enjoy every minute of it. From the planning to booking, then getting to the destination – I love going to airports, and spending time in whatever foreign local. Going back home is the only part of traveling I really dislike but really who does like when their vacay is coming to an end?
My work obligations don’t allow for unlimited travel days, but I do try to squeeze in one or two trips a year. I’ll admit, it’s not always easy with the small amount of vacation time I get – 10 days, but I make it work. I try to plan my trips from Saturday to Saturdays so I’m away for seven nights but only using five days off from work. I don’t want to look back on my life when I’m old and gray wishing I would have visited somewhere but came up with excuses not too. So if it’s only one trip a year that I can manage, you better believe I’ll be taking that one trip. Come the end of the year, vacation days will never be left on the table at my job!
So next month, the hubby and I are off to Montreal for our five year wedding anniversary. It’s a change of pace from our past vacations – Mexico, Aruba, Dominican Republic but I’m so excited for it. I’m excited to visit a city in another country and take in the culture. Poutine is the food to try, or so I’ve read, and you better believe I’ll be trying it as soon as we arrive in Montreal.
Who has been to or is from Montreal? What are some places to see, restaurants to try and things to do while we’re there? I’d love to get some tips!
P.S. I’m all about food so if you have favorite restaurants do share!
Do you wish you could travel more often?
If you’re a frequent traveler, how do you do it? Please share your secrets 🙂
