Oh how I love a good ladies night out with good food and drinks and Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas in Garden City, NY definitely delivered! Sometimes after a long work day, you need to go out eat and drink with friends until you think you might just really pass out from a food coma.

If you are not familiar with Long Island, there are strip malls everywhere. Seriously, they are all over the place but that’s where some of the best restaurants can be found. Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas is located in the Westbury Galleria and I am so happy I discovered this little gem.

It’s an Italian tapas style restaurant which is always my favorite type of restaurant to try. Being able to order multiple little plates to share while I relax and catch up with friends is great. Tapas is great if you’re indecisive like me when that menu is staring you in the face – just order everything!

CARAMELIZED ONION – Topped with crumbled goat cheese

TUNA CRUDO – Ahi tuna, house pickles, grilled lime, ginger liquor

FILET MIGNON – Filet medallions with a Chianti reduction

SEARED SALMON – Artichoke hearts, fava beans, Gaeta olives, cherry tomatoes, lemon butter sauce and parsley oil

ARANCINI- Risotto balls with peas, mozzarella and tomato sauce

SPAGHETTI ALLA CARBONARA – Classic-style Carbonara with bacon and peas. Finished with Pecorino Romano and egg yolk
6 plates, 2 bottles of wine and 2 desserts – you would think it was a bunch of us right? Well no it was just 2 of us, myself included. That’s how good the food is, we just kept ordering plate after plate. They have a pretty big menu, plenty of gluten free options if you have dietary restrictions and a never ending wine list. Each dish was great – the tuna and Arancini balls were my personal favorite, I absolutely recommend these two plates. The Spaghetti Carbonara was honestly my least favorite – a little too greasy, maybe the egg yolk gave it that grease?

APPLE CROSTATA – House-made apple crostata with salted caramel and vanilla gelato

NUTELLA PIZZA – Nutella pizza topped with fresh strawberries, mint, pistachios and powdered sugar
Seriously, how can you go wrong with Nutella pizza for dessert? The mint added such a nice refreshing flavor to the Nutella. Of course at this point we were stuffed & I had to take the rest to go. Next day breakfast anyone?

The service was great too. Our waiter, Nick, was super attentive and kept the wine flowing – a must in my book! The décor makes you feel like you are having dinner in a perfectly rustic wine cellar. The walls are lined with wine bottles and the lighting is dim. If I could mimic this in my dinning room I totally would.

So if you’re looking for a tapas restaurant with great tasting dishes, plenty of wine and amazing service you should add Spuntino Wine Bar to your list of places to try.

All the food looks so good! The place itself sounds pretty awesome, too 🙂
You had me at Italian…..by far my favorite food!
It’s one of my favorites too!
Well now I’m STARVING 😉 I’ve never been to Long Island, even though I’ve been to NYC quite a few times. Looks like I need to make a visit one of these days!
If you make it back to NYC this place is a really short train ride away! 🙂
