First, can I point out the obvious? How are we halfway through October already?!? Seriously, where does the time go?? Anyway, last month I promised a review of some of the items from my most recent Sephora Beauty Haul that finally pushed me into VIB Rouge status! A couple of my purchases were loves and a few were big misses. Disappointing but it happens.1. Roll On Acne Clearing Solution – Ole Henriksen I’ve been searching for a good spot treatment for what seems like years now. This is the first one I’ve ever liked. It doesn’t dry out my skin and it works well. It doesn’t work overnight but after two or three uses, the pimple is pretty much gone and healing. Only downside, it’s in a roller ball tube which I can’t imagine is very hygienic.2. Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum – Murad Murad has always never disappointed me and this serum is working really well for me. I have some acne scars on my cheeks that I want cleared up. I’ve been using this every night for a few weeks now. My skin does seem less dull, almost brighter and the scars are getting lighter. It is slightly pricey but worth it if you have stubborn scars. 3. Caviar Repair Multi-Vitamin Heat Protection Spray – Alterna Haircare This was such a disappointment. The spray had pretty good reviews and I needed a new heat protecting spray but this left my hair feeling so sticky. I didn’t spray that much onto my hair and when I tried to run my flat iron through my hair the iron would snag because of the stickiness. I ended up giving up of flat ironing my hair that day and promptly washed it again to get rid of the stiff stickiness.4. Powdered Blush in Goulue – Nars This was a VIB Rouge color, and it looked so pretty online. When I opened it though, I was a little worried. I normally lean towards matte, no sparkle blushes, and this one has sparkle to it. However, I was totally wrong about worrying. This shade is perfect for a night out. It’s not too extreme, and the sparkle isn’t even noticeable. It’s my new go-to color for going out now.5. Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15 – Fresh I’ve used the little sample size of this in the past and for some reason totally forgot it even existed. My lips get super dry most of the time but especially now. This is helping me and I’ve even started putting it over lip stains to prevent drying. 6. Bye, Bye Under Eye Cream – It Cosmetics I just want to say how happy I am that Sephora is now carrying It Cosmetics’ products. I use a couple of their other products. Some are misses, but most are hits. This eye cream is a hit. It’s creamy and thick but not oily or greasy. I’ve been putting it on in the mornings and at night, and it’s helping with my puffiness. 7. Angled Blush Brush – Sephora This was on sale when I bought it and now I know why. It’s really flimsy, and the brush fibers fall right out of it. Oh well, you live, you learn. 8. Waterproof Mascara – Buxom The non-waterproof version is my favorite mascara. I never wear it on my bottom lashes though because my eyes tear up sometimes, hello annoying contacts, and it smudges. This waterproof one doesn’t and stays put all day. These are the purchases that pushed me to VIB Rouge and free makeovers! Maybe it’s a sign I shop there way too much? It’s a good thing Sephora has a good return policy because I took the blush brush and heat protectant spray right back. What are some of your favorite Sephora purchases?
