Mother nature can be so iffy this time of year. One day it’s 15 degrees out the next it is 50 degrees then back to 25 degrees. One day there is 10 inches of snow the next all the snow is gone. It’s hard to keep up with sometimes, and this cold, dry winter weather can wreak havoc on my skin. My daytime skincare routine doesn’t change much throughout the year but my nighttime winter skincare routine changes.
I bought this a while ago and shared it this post. This has to be my favorite eye cream I have ever used. Even better than this Derma E one which used to be my favorite. It’s thick but not greasy and I’ve noticed my under eye skin isn’t as dry as it used to be. I may just keep this eye cream as part of my routine all year long.
Face – Bio Oil
A little bit of this goes a really long way. I know some are skeptical about using an oil on their face, especially if your skin in oily like mine. However, once the cold and dry weather arrives, my skin becomes more combination type. Most of my face becomes super dry and even flakes. This oil keeps my skin hydrated without making it greasy. I put it evenly on my face right before I go to bed at night.
Lips – Fresh Sugar Lip Polish
This is a recent Sephora purchase, and I don’t know how I survived without it. I never believed in lip scrubs before and thought just using some warm water and a towel would be good enough to scrub dead skin but this is so much better. Use it about three times a week, and it works wonders.
Lips – Vaseline Lip Therapy
This goes on my lips every single night. I find it works better than even the most intense hydrating chapsticks. It can be a little thick and greasy, so a tiny bit is all that’s needed. Vaseline has so many different flavors too.
Hands – Jergens Ultra Healing Hand Cream
Tell me I’m not the only one that puts on hand cream, and as soon as I step out the front door, my hands are dry, and it feels like I never put anything on in the first place? I keep this cream in my nightstand and use it every single night. Since I started using it, my hands don’t get as dry throughout the day anymore. It’s thick but not greasy and works well overnight.
Keeping my skin moisturized in dry weather is really important. It keeps my skin healthy, I’ve noticed fewer breakouts, and keeping my skin healthy helps with anti-aging.
