The Day After

I do not like to talk about politics. It upsets many people and I’d rather stay positive on my blog. I stayed away from commenting on anything during the campaign trail. I did not feel comfortable voicing opinions on either potential candidate’s qualifications.

However, today I am sad, scared, and shocked. I am sad that so many have turned a blind eye to Trump’s comments on women and minorities. I am scared to see what our future will be like. I am scared of the all the close minded people in this world. It has not even been a full 24 hours since Trump won the presidential race and I have seen comments on social media declaring “You’re all going back to your countries now”, “Muslims shouldn’t be here anyway” and “All Hispanics will now be deported”. That truly scares me. I am shocked a man who brings out so much hatred in people is our next President.

I hope we will have a peaceful upcoming four years. I hope things will work out for the better in the end but today I am nervous for the future of our country.

Ugh, I am right there with you. I could stop crying yesterday. It’s heartbreaking to find out that although Hillary won the popular vote Trump won the electoral vote. He’s going to ruin this country and revert it back to a time when no one was equal. I’m scared for anyone not white or a man and that’s most of the country. But I did hear some good news: Obama made it impossible for Trump to get rid of funding for Planned Parenthood and that it would cost way too much money to deport the amount of people he wants to. He can sure as hell try, but there’s no way it will work. Deep breaths, we’ll get through this together! 🙂
